CLERMONT — Lake County's park rangers will lead a nature hike on Saturday, April 26, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Palatlakaha River Park and Boat Ramp, located at 12325 Hull Road, Clermont.
During the 1-mile hike, rangers will guide participants along a trail that is highlighted by the Florida Scrub-jay, other birds, butterflies and many unique plants.
"With migration under way, there is a possibility of seeing some migrant songbirds as well as native birds. As the day warms up, there should also be plenty of butterflies," said Wendy Poag, a park ranger with the Lake County Parks & Trails Division.
Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Park rangers also recommend bringing binoculars, field guides, sunscreen, insect repellent, water and a snack.
The hike is limited to the first 25 reservations. For more information or to make reservations for the guided nature hike, call Wendy Poag at (352) 253-4950 or e-mail parksandtrails@lakecountyfl.gov.
