TAVARES — Lake County park rangers will lead a canoeing and kayaking trip on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Lake Jem Park & Boat Ramp, located at 16141 County Road 448, Tavares.
Rangers will guide the paddling adventure down the Apopka-Beauclair Canal from Lake Jem discovering the beauty of this area while learning and seeing different plants, birds, and other wildlife. Participants must register for the guided tour and provide their own canoe or kayak, life vests and paddle. All reservations need to include the number of canoes and kayaks and the number of guests.
Park rangers encourage participants to bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks, hats, binoculars and waterproof cameras.
