LEESBURG — The Lake County Parks & Trails Division is conducting bird and butterfly surveys at Pear Park, located at 5336 University Ave., Leesburg, on Thursday, May 7, and is requesting the help of local bird and butterfly enthusiasts.
The bird survey will be conducted from 7 to 10 a.m. Park rangers are encouraging birders who can identify common birds by sight or sound to participate. The activity will include hiking over uneven terrain. The butterfly survey will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers participating in the butterfly survey should be able to identify most common species. The activity will include hiking over uneven terrain.
