TAVARES — The next scheduled workshop for the Lake County Board of County Commissioners to discuss the draft of the County’s comprehensive plan, titled Planning Horizon 2030, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, at 9 a.m. in room 233 of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
During the June 9 workshop, the Board will continue its discussion on the future land-use element from its previous workshop on May 26, specifically items 36-89 from the staff comment report. The draft comprehensive plan and staff comments report are available to review on the County Commission’s agenda Web page at www.lakecountyfl.gov, keyword: BCC agenda.
Additional workshops are scheduled for June 16 at 1 p.m. and July 7 at 1 p.m. These two workshops are also scheduled to be held in room 233 of the Lake County Administration Building.
At the June 16 workshop, County Commissioners are slated to review the capital improvements, concurrency management, conservation, economic, housing and intergovernmental coordination elements of the proposed plan, specifically, items 90-214 from the staff comment report.
For the July 7 workshop, the Board is set to consider the elements of parks & recreation, transportation, public facilities (aquifer recharge, potable water, sewer, solid waste and stormwater) and public schools. In addition, the Board will receive an overview of the proposed future land-use map, specifically items 215-284, from the staff comment report.
