TAVARES — The Lake County Library System announces the redesign of its website www.lakeline.lib.fl.us with a focus on visitors’ needs. The new design has allowed for easier navigation, better organization of content and more interactive features. The library catalog is still just a click away. You can find a book, video, DVD or audio book with no difficulty. Interactive features of the Website include online library card registration and renewal, reference services through Ask a Librarian and the Tavares Online Reference Help, teen interest survey, and a general contact form where visitors can submit questions or comments about the Lake County Library System to staff.
In addition, the site features a calendar of events for each of the 13 libraries, special events listings, a Speakers Bureau offering free services to organizations and clubs, Lakeline Kids’ Art Gallery and Story Corner and helpful links to information on literacy resources and services.
Other features have been added to the site, including updated databases, free to all Lake County Library System card holders. With a valid library card, anyone can get the information they need, at the library, at home and in the workplace. An online database is a computerized collection of information on a specific subject or area. Databases are not limited to computer issues; common ones include the phone book, dictionaries, almanacs, magazine articles, etc. Library staff selects databases that are high quality and authoritative and pays subscription fees to use these carefully researched commercial databases.
Check out the Web Site at http://www.lakeline.lib.fl.us. You will find contact information for the staff on the web! Please let us know what you think.
