Citizen advisory boards and committees, to which the Board of County Commissioners makes appointments, are an integral part of the governmental process in Lake County. The volunteers who participate provide the Board of County Commissioners with valuable insight and are greatly appreciated. The Lake County Board of County Commissioners recognizes the importance of volunteerism, as it plays an important role in leading a progressive and effective County government.
The citizens that volunteer on these various boards and committees have an interest or experience in the area of service and the necessary expertise to accomplish the goals and objectives of the specific advisory group.
Some of these boards require financial disclosures. The appointees are required by Section 112.3145, Florida Statutes, to file a Form 1 Statement of Financial Interests with the Supervisor of Elections within 30 days of appointment. Anyone interested in serving on a board or committee must complete an application form available online or at the office of the Board of County Commissioners, located in the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares, FL 32778 (front lobby and on the third floor, Room 316).
