Jim started doing abstract wood art using only red cedar root materials. Today he uses only the finest of woods that are native to the south. Cypress, cedar, southern yellow pine are his choices. He purchases rough sawn wood beams at a local mill or sometimes even goes to one of his local lumber yards to find unique large size beams and lumber.
Jim can carve most salt and fresh water fish species. He also carves aquatic water fowl such as herons, egrets and pelicans.
All Jim's wood carvings are life-size and are airbrushed to be life-like in every way.
