Q. How do I access an outside line?
A. On the NEC phone system, dial 8 and then the number. On the Norstar phone system, lift the handset, select an available line and dial the number.
Q. How do I access voicemail?
A. On the NEC phone system, dial 3999 to reach voicemail.
Q. How can I reach an employee that does not have an external phone line, but has an internal four-digit extension?
A. Call 742-3999. When voicemail answers, press “1” and enter the four-digit extension that you want to reach.
Q. How can I check my voicemail from outside the office?
A. If you are located on the NEC phone-system network and can dial four-digit extensions, to reach voicemail from outside of the office dial (352) 742-3999. Once voicemail answers, press the * key and then follow the prompts. Alternatively, you can call your desk, if you have a direct outside line, and once the voicemail answers press the * key.
Q. Why do I not have access to voicemail?
A. Not all County employees have access to voicemail and not all departments allow voicemail. If you are located within the County NEC phone system with four-digit dialing and you do not have voicemail, your director can open a work order to get you access.
Q. I am responsible for paying all the phone bills for my office and I cannot make any sense out of them, what can Technical Services do for me?
A. Technical Services can help you analyze your County telephone bills. In many cases, Technical Services has been able to save money either on long distance or monthly service charges.
Q. Where is the Technical Services Division located?
A. Technical Services is located on the first floor of the Lake County Administration Building, suite 118.
