Water Testing Services:
- Surface Water Monitoring Program — The Lake County Water Resource Management (WRM) Laboratory staff is responsible for the collection and analysis of surface water samples from both the Ocklawaha and Palatlakaha chain of lakes. Samples are also collected for water quality projects such as BMAPs (Basin Management Action Plans). The Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program volunteers also collect surface water samples for analysis at the WRM Lab.
- Drinking Water Testing
Landfill Permit Compliance Monitoring:
- Lake County has three closed landfills and one active landfill. Groundwater monitoring wells are installed at all of the County landfill sites and require sampling and analysis according to FDEP permits. Landfill gas monitoring is also performed by the WRM Lab staff.
Stormwater/National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program:
- Laboratory staff works in conjunction with Stormwater staff and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) to collect and analyze samples for stormwater projects.
Industrial Waste Water Program:
- The Lake County WRM Laboratory provides sampling and analytical services to several industrial re-use permit holders within the County.
