As part of Lake County’s commitment to employee health and safety, we are taking steps to help prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Employees are encouraged to practice social distancing and safety recommendations prescribed by the Florida Department of Health.
Employee Assistance Program
Resources and consultation services are available to County employees experiencing fear and anxiety over the spread of COVID-19. The ComPsych GuidanceResources program offers a range of services including confidential emotional support, work-life solutions, legal guidance and more. For more information call (844) 346-6682 or visit their website at guidanceresources.com to access the GuidanceRessources ® Now app using Web ID, “LCBCC”.
Additionally, Florida Blue, in partnership with New Directions Behavioral Health counselors, is offering behavioral health counseling via a 24-hour, toll-free help line at 833-848-1762.
Florida Blue will seek to minimize barriers for testing and treatment and will waive all copays and deductibles for the medical testing for COVID-19 for members who are part of our commercial insurance plans. Members should immediately consult their healthcare provider if they are experiencing symptoms or think they may have been exposed to COVID-19. If it is determined that coronavirus testing is needed, Florida Blue supports the work of providers, the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure any COVID-19 testing is available to its members. The tests are currently provided at no cost by state and federal health authorities and may soon be available at other laboratories.
Primary Care Clinic
Your Primary Care Connection clinic is available to you at no cost if you are covered under the County’s medical insurance. This includes spouses as well as dependents 2 years and up. The clinic is operated through a third-party vendor (Healthstat). If you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, please call and describe your symptoms in lieu of a walk-in visit.
PCC Virtual Appointments
VirtualCare appointments are now available through the web and a smartphone app, allowing employees to schedule Virtual Visits with the Primary Care Connection (PCC) from the privacy of their own home or office location. The service offers a convenient and intuitive experience as an alternative to in-person visits. To schedule an appointment, employees must call the scheduling line at (866) 959-9355 and indicate that a virtual appointment is desired. As a reminder, all appointments at the PCC are either telephonic or virtual for the time being. There are currently no walk-in or physical appointments being conducted.
