EUSTIS — The Lake County Tourism & Business Relations Division is excited by the news that Lake County’s longstanding railroad attraction will reopen for business as Florida Rail Adventures on Thursday, Oct. 8, with the Murder Mystery Express departing from Eustis at 6 p.m.
“The train service is such an integral part of the Lake County tourism experience, I am pleased that Florida Rail Adventures is set to roll again,” said Greg Mihalic, Director of the Tourism & Business Relations Division.
The Murder Mystery Express will depart from the Eustis depot, located at 51 W. Magnolia Ave., and includes dinner and a comedy play. The murder-mystery comedy trains will operate every Thursday and Friday.
On Saturday evening, the first Evening Star Dinner Train will depart from Eustis for Lake Jem, Fla. This train features a five-course, 24-mile round trip.
Service begins in Mount Dora on Saturday, Oct. 10, with the inaugural run of the Mount Dora Meteor. This 75-minute, narrated trip will operate Wednesday-Sunday. Additional train excursions include The Great Pumpkin Limited, The Polar Express, The Magic Express and the Gunfight at the OK Corral.
