LEESBURG — Lake County Commissioners Welton Cadwell and Elaine Renick and Tavares Mayor Nancy Clutts are hosting, on behalf of the Central Florida Congress of Regional Leaders, a Lake County Stakeholders Water Strategy Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lake-Sumter Community College Magnolia Room, located at 9501 U.S. Highway 441, Leesburg.
The public is invited to attend this important meeting to ensure their input is provided during the early stages of development of a Regional Water Strategy for Central Florida. In partnership with the water management districts of St. Johns River, South Florida & Southwest Florida and ULI-Central Florida, the Central Florida Congress of Regional Leaders and myregion.org are coordinating the development of a Regional Water Strategy for the benefit of the seven counties and 86 cities of Central Florida.
As part of the initial phase of the initiative, “stakeholder meetings” are being held in each of the seven Central Florida counties to identify the key issues that need to be addressed in a regional water strategy. The goal is to reach all stakeholder groups and organizations that are interested and engaged in this important subject as the Central Florida Congress of Regional Leaders builds toward a regional consensus.
Reservations are due by Wednesday, Oct. 28. For more information or reservations, call Jeanne Merrill with the Lake County Commissioner’s Office at (352) 343-9881 or e-mail email@example.com.
