GROVELAND — The Lake County Department of Public Resources, Tourism & Business Relations Division, congratulates six local cultural organizations that were recently awarded 2010 Organizational Project Grants from United Arts of Central Florida.
As part of its mission to enhance the quality and variety of cultural experiences available in Central Florida, United Arts provides matching project grants through the Organizational Project Grants program to local nonprofit cultural organizations. The goal of these awards is to sustain ongoing projects, as well as to recognize and support imaginative and experimental ideas for arts, sciences, humanities and other cultural activities.
“We had a fine group of very strong Lake County candidates,” said Kathy Pagan with the Lake County Tourism & Business Relations Division and an advisory panel member for the United Arts of Central Florida. “All applicants from Lake County had remarkably creative programming that addressed their current economic challenges even as they persevered with momentum and inspiration to provide the best of cultural experiences to all Lake County residents.”
