TAVARES — Members of the Lake County Legislative Delegation, including State Sen. Carey Baker and State Rep. Alan Hays, are invited to speak on Tuesday, June 13, at the meeting of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners.
“The Board of County Commissioners would like to recognize our local delegation on the progress made this year during the Florida Legislative Session,” said County Commission Chairman Catherine C. Hanson.
The state delegates will brief the Board about bills and funding allocations which were passed during the recent session that could affect Lake County. Several beneficial bills were sponsored or co-sponsored by the Lake County Legislative Delegation this year. Some of the general items the delegates and Board may discuss are:
• Assisting the elderly
• Protecting citizens from sexual predators
• Hurricane preparedness and sales tax free periods
• Affordable housing
• Protecting open spaces, parks and wildlife
The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will meet on June 13 at 9 a.m. in the Commission Chambers, located on the second floor of the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W.
