TAVARES — The Lake County Extension is hosting three free “Healthy Holiday Eating” programs next month at local libraries:
• Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 12 p.m.
Marianne Beck Memorial Library, 112 W. Central Ave., Howey-in-the-Hills
• Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m.
City of Tavares Public Library, 314 N. New Hampshire Ave.
• Monday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m.
Fruitland Park Library, 205 W. Berckman St.
The average holiday meal has between 2,000 and 3,000 calories. Unfortunately, the average person should eat between 1,600 and 2,400 calories for an entire day. Attend one of three Healthy Holiday Eating programs at local libraries to learn how to lighten up holiday foods and get tips for holiday parties, gifts and eating out.
“With some small changes, you can have your favorite dishes and desserts without worrying about excess calories, sugar and sodium,” said Julie England from Lake County Extension who will provide healthy holiday eating ideas and recipes.
