The Lake County Complete Count Committee was formed in January 2009 and represents the area’s diverse population, geography and organizations. Members from a host of organizations, including churches, community groups, local governments and schools, offer their expertise and insights to develop a robust outreach strategy that leverages and capitalizes on existing outreach and community touch points, all in an effort to avoid an undercount. The Committee works in close partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau to leverage federal resources at the local level to coordinate outreach efforts in the most effective way possible.

In March 2010, every Lake County household will receive a census questionnaire in the mail. It is important every Lake County resident is counted during the 2010 U.S. Census.
  • Your response matters — Census data helps inform decision makers how our community is changing.
  • Bring federal dollars to our community — The population counted during the census affects funding for our community. Approximately $400 billion in federal funds are distributed to communities each year based on the census.
  • The census is short and simple — With only 10 questions, the 2010 Census questionnaire is one of the shortest in history and takes just 10 minutes to complete.
  • Your response is strictly confidential — By law, the Census Bureau cannot share an individual’s census questionnaire responses with anyone, including other federal agencies and law enforcement entities.
