TAVARES — The Lake Sumter Grantsmanship Network is presenting its annual grant-writing workshop on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 8 to 12 p.m. in the auditorium of the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
The workshop will cover the basics of grant writing and is free to attend. The Lake Sumter Grantsmanship provides a collegial forum to facilitate training and resource development and offers leadership and networking opportunities for grant professionals in Lake and Sumter counties.
Barbara Howell, president of the Lake Sumter Grantsmanship Network, is leading the grant-writing workshop. She has been a grant writer and grant administrator for more than 20 years. She currently works as the Research Coordinator for the College of Health and Public Affairs at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Howell holds a master’s degree in education and teaches in the Nonprofit Management Masters Program at UCF. She is a founding member of the Lake Sumter Grantsmanship Network and a member of SRA International, a professional society providing education and support to research administrators around the world.
