In March 2010, every Lake County household will receive a census questionnaire in the mail. It is important that every Lake County resident is counted during the 2010 U.S. Census.

  • Your response matters — Census data helps inform decision makers how our community is changing.
  • Bring federal dollars to our community — The population counted during the census affects funding for our community. Approximately $400 billion in federal funds are distributed to communities each year based on the census.
  • The census is short and simple — With only 10 questions, the 2010 Census questionnaire is one of the shortest in history and takes just 10 minutes to complete.
  • Your response is strictly confidential — By law, the Census Bureau cannot share an individual’s census questionnaire responses with anyone, including other federal agencies and law enforcement.
