Lake County offices to close for Presidents Day

RELEASE DATE: February 4, 2010

TAVARES — All offices of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, Clerk of Courts, Property Appraiser, Sheriff’s Office, Supervisor of Elections and Tax Collector will be closed Monday, Feb. 15, in observance of Presidents Day.

Eleven of the Lake County Library System libraries will close Feb. 15 and will reopen with regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

  • Baysinger Memorial Library, 756 W. Broad St., Groveland
  • Cagan Crossings Community Library, 16729 Cagan Oaks, Clermont
  • Cooper Memorial Library, 2525 Oakley Seaver Drive, Clermont
  • East Lake County Library, 31340 S. County Road 437, Sorrento
  • Lady Lake Public Library, 225 W. Guava St.
  • Marianne Beck Memorial Library, 112 W. Central Ave., Howey-in-the-Hills
  • Minneola Schoolhouse, 100 S. Main Ave., Minneola
  • Paisley County Library, 24954 County Road 42, Paisley
  • Umatilla Public Library, 314 N. New Hampshire Ave.
  • W.T. Bland Public Library, 1995 N. Donnelly St., Mount Dora

The other four libraries of the Lake County Library System will remain open on Feb. 15.

  • Fruitland Park Library, 205 W. Berckman St.
  • Helen Lehmann Memorial Library, 17435 Fifth St., Montverde
  • Leesburg Public Library, 100 E. Main St.
  • Tavares Public Library, 314 N. New Hampshire Ave.

The Lake County Department of Environmental Utilities Central Solid Waste Facility, located at 13130 County Landfill Road, will be open Feb. 15 during normal operating hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Department's administrative offices at the Central Solid Waste Facility will be closed on Presidents Day. All regularly scheduled residential collection services will take place on Feb. 15 and all Lake County residential drop-off centers will be closed as normally scheduled on Mondays.
