TAVARES — The meeting of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 9 a.m. has been cancelled.
County Commissioners made the decision this week at its Feb. 2 meeting to cancel the Feb. 16 meeting as it occurs during Lake County Days. Organized by the Chamber Alliance of Lake County, Lake County Days is a two-day event that provides the opportunity for many local elected officials, and business and community leaders to meet with the Lake County Legislative Delegation of state senators and representatives in Tallahassee.
The event on Feb. 16-17 is sponsored by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, CenturyLink, Progress Energy, Ford Press, Vulcan Materials Company, Covanta Energy, English Communications, Lake-Sumter EMS, Lake County League of Cities, SECO, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, City of Tavares and the Chamber Alliance of Lake County. Remaining meetings this month for the Lake County Board of County Commissioners include a workshop scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 9 a.m. and a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m. The Lake County Board of County Commissioners meets in the Commission Chambers, located on the second floor of the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
