TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will consider an ordinance at its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 2, at 9 a.m. that will suspend the collection of transportation impact fees on new developments for one year.
During the public hearing in the County Commission Chambers, located on the second floor of the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares, County Commissioners will hear from concerned individuals regarding the proposed ordinance.
According to the proposed ordinance:
“The Board of County Commissioners wish to stimulate the local economy by encouraging economic development and promoting job creation; and transportation impact fees are applicable to all types of developments, including residential, commercial, office and industrial development, and can be a substantial component of a developer’s total development costs.”
