Lake County 4-H to receive boost from paper clover campaign, Tractor Supply Company

RELEASE DATE: March 16, 2010

TAVARES — Tractor Supply Company (TSC) stores in Eustis and Leesburg joined Lake County 4-H this week in the support of local youth with the TSC Clover Campaign, a national in-store fundraising effort to benefit state and local 4-H programming in each of the communities where Tractor Supply Company stores are located.

Beginning Friday, March 26, through Sunday, April 18, shoppers at the Eustis and Leesburg Tractor Supply Company stores will have the opportunity to support 4-H in Lake County by purchasing paper clovers for $1 at checkout. All funds raised through this local TSC Paper Clover Campaign will be donated to 4-H, and will support local camps, after-school programs and other 4-H youth development program activities in Lake County.

“We are extremely excited about this new and developing partnership with our local Tractor Supply Company stores,” said Jennifer Hodges, Lake County’s 4-H Extension Agent. “Several of our youth who participate in animal and livestock project areas are already used to purchasing feed and other supplies at TSC, so it is great for our youth to feel their support.”

Tractor Supply Company Chairman and CEO Jim Wright added, “Many of our stores have been involved with 4-H clubs for years. Now, Tractor Supply Company is proud to have an official chain-wide relationship with 4-H. For us, this is an outstanding way to support our current and future customers and future team members, and it’s a way to give back to the 900-plus unique communities we serve.”

The Lake County 4-H program boasts more than 700 members and 250 volunteers. The fundamental 4-H ideal of practical, “learn by doing” experiences encourage youth to experiment, innovate and think independently. The programs of 4-H are offered through school-based, after-school and camp settings and within community clubs.
