TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners recognized at its meeting Tuesday retiring Lake County Judge Richard W. Boylston.
First elected as County Judge in 1989, a proclamation read at the meeting by County Commission Chairman Welton Cadwell stated, “The Honorable Richard W. Boylston is highly respected and widely recognized for his judicial acumen, warmth, wisdom, knowledge and integrity by citizens, public officials, attorneys and business leaders throughout the County.”
The Commission Chambers were crowded with attorneys and various staff who gave the County’s longest-serving judge a standing ovation.
“Lake County is without a doubt the most enjoyable, pleasurable and professional place to practice law in the state of Florida,” Judge Boylston said. “I’m not just talking about Lake County lawyers, but those coming from Tallahassee, Miami and from all over the state.
“These professionals that come into Lake County constantly remind all the judges how much they truly enjoy practicing law in Lake County. I think we should all be very proud of the judicial system we have here in Lake County.”
