TAVARES — Lake County Tourism & Business Relations’ blog at http://lakecountyfl.wordpress.com notched its 1,000th unique visitor last week.
After just three months online, Lake County tourism’s blog is becoming a more relevant destination for Web surfers searching for event information and details about local attractions. Since its inception, the tourism blog has logged more than three dozen posts about a variety of subjects, such as the Conference USA Men’s Golf Tournament on April 25-27 and the Lake County Fair, which continues through this weekend.
“A blog is only as good as its content and the community it attracts,” said Greg Mihalic, Director of Lake County Tourism & Business Relations. “We wanted this blog to engage visitors and give them an inside look at all the County has to offer travelers.”
The Lake County tourism blog averages about 12 visitors a day and its popularity has steadily increased with more than 330 people visiting the blog last month.
“The blog is a helpful tool in our efforts to market Lake County as a vacation destination,” Mihalic said. “Coupled with our Web site, Vacation Guide and other promotional materials, the in-depth articles on the blog can help inform tourists about all the great things going on in the County.”
