TAVARES — A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 5:30 p.m. to inform residents along Woodlea Road, located southwest of the City of Tavares, about plans to improve the roadway.
The meeting will be held at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares. At the meeting, staff from the Lake County Department of Public Works and transportation consulting firm of Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson will provide a brief presentation about the preliminary engineering study that is being conducted to identify and evaluate impacts in the corridor that will meet future traffic demands.
The proposed section of Woodlea Road from Lane Park Road to State Road 19 will include one 12-foot lane in each direction, a closed drainage curb and gutter system, a 5-foot sidewalk on the south side and a multi-purpose trail on the north side.
Local residents are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more information regarding the proposed project and to share comments with the project team. After comments from this workshop are addressed, the project will move into the design phase.
