TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners invites the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Aug. 18, at 8:30 a.m. for the newly renovated and expanded Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.
After the ceremony, guests can tour the renovated facility, which includes a new lobby, classroom, kitchen and restrooms. The 5,500 square feet of renovated space also includes a new entrance feature and larger parking area.
The Agricultural Center houses the Lake County Cooperative Extension Service, a partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences and the Board of County Commissioners. The trained professionals and volunteers of the extension service offer research-based education in agriculture, family and consumer sciences, and 4-H youth development.
