TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Tourism and Business Relations received a Red Baron Media Award at the 12th Annual Convention and Trade Show of the Florida Festivals and Events Association (FFEA) in Bonita Springs on Aug. 2-4.
The Red Baron Media Awards signify the highest level of achievement for members of FFEA. Lake County was presented with an award for a print advertisement in the $99,000 and under budget category.
The print advertisement, titled “Nature’s Masterpiece,” was published in the November-December 2005 and January-February 2006 editions of the Orlando Arts Magazine to promote Lake County’s cultural attractions.
“There were more entries this year than any other in the past,” said Kathy Pagan, Executive Associate of the Department of Tourism and Business Relations. “The panel of judges had a hard time choosing the best ones, but they finally selected our ad because of its originality, use of color and appeal to the eye.”
It is the fourth consecutive year Lake County has earned media awards at the FFEA convention. Also notable is the winning entry by Lake County was created by the Lake County Information Outreach Section.
