TAVARES —Lake County Extension is inviting green industry professionals to attend an upcoming Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) educational course on Tuesday, March 15 from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
This course focuses on training in the areas of fertilization, landscape management recommendations and conservation of water resources and the environment as it relates to green industries. Anyone working in the lawn, landscape, pest control or municipal grounds industry is encouraged to attend.
Up to four Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Pesticide Applicator and Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association Continuing Education Units will also be given at the end of class. Participants will be given a post-test at the end of the course to determine knowledge learned and a Green Industries BMP certificate of completion will be mailed after successfully passing the test.
There is a $20 non-refundable registration fee for the course, which covers training materials and handouts, as well as lunch. The deadline for registration is March 14.
