TAVARES, FL — The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Orange and Lake County Extension Offices are hosting a three-part pasture management school for local residents, farmers, ranchers and land owners. Classes will be held on July 26, Aug. 9 and 23 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
Participants will learn how to manage nutrients, make important fertilizer decisions and understand planting methods on their pastures. Additional topics to be covered include soil testing, toxic plant identification, weed management and grazing strategies.
The cost of the program and materials is $20, and pre-registration is required.
