County seeks nominations for Women’s Hall of Fame

RELEASE DATE: July 21, 2011

TAVARES — The Board of County Commissioners is asking the public to nominate outstanding Lake County women to be considered for induction into the Lake County Women’s Hall of Fame.
Nomination forms are available online at www.lakecountyfl.gov or at the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Suite 316, Tavares. Nominations for 2011 must be received by Aug. 26.
Each year, new pillars of the community who have contributed their time and talents in the fields of art, agriculture, athletics, business, community service, environment, government, health care, humanities, philanthropy, science or education have the honor of joining this distinguished group. Nominees typically have made significant contributions to the improvement of life for citizens and have enhanced the role of women in Lake County.
A selection committee of five citizens reviews nominations, and those selected will be honored at the State of the County event in January. Nominations will remain on file for two consecutive years for reconsideration.
For more information about the Lake County Women’s Hall of Fame or to have a nomination form mailed out, call (352) 343-9849.
