The Lake County 4-H program boasts more than 753 members, 252 youth & adult volunteers and 3,400 students enrolled in school enrichment and after-school programs. The fundamental 4-H ideal of practical, “learn by doing” experiences encourage youth to experiment, innovate and think independently. The programs of 4-H are offered through school-based, after-school and camp settings and within community clubs.

The Lake County Cooperative Extension, which oversees Lake County’s 4-H program, is a partnership between the University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences (IFAS), and the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. An equal opportunity institution, IFAS is authorized to provide research, educational information and other services only to individuals and institutions that function without discrimination with respect to race, creed, color, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political opinions or affiliations.
