LEESBURG — The Lake County Health Department and the Lake County Board of County Commissioners will celebrate the grand opening of the Leesburg Health Center, located at 2113 W. Griffin Road, on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend the presentation, followed by an open house.
The project costs totaled just over $450,000. Work began in Sept. 2011 and included a complete overhaul of the existing 4,700-square-foot structure and adding 200 square feet of additional space.
The new facility enables the Lake County Health Department to offer clinical services to the surrounding community, including family health, maternity, immunizations and specialty clinics.
The Leesburg Health Center renovation and expansion project was designed by John S. Dickerson Architecture of Leesburg. The construction manager for the project was R W Paul Construction, Inc. of Maitland.
Some new features to the health facility include updated plumbing and air conditioning units, as well as energy efficient upgrades.
