TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners recognized 40 volunteers on Tuesday for their contribution of 150 or more hours of documented service in 2011.
The volunteers who were recognized include: Devin Collins; Lynne Tyler; Linda Perrine; Myla Thompson; Alton Koren; Rena Frank; Natalie Manley; Jarold Michael; David Hasunuma; Wendy Edwards; Elizabeth Schwarten; James Briggs; Carl Mullins; Carla Heimer; Nancy Puckett; Kristen Holden; Milan Barabas; Stacy Allen; JoAnn Rhoda; Jeanne Hotaling; Carolyn Long; Weller Small; Peggy Ekberg; Barney Rae; Jeannette Bird; Florence Konvalinka; Marti Wilkins; Patricia Miller; Veronica Rojas; Dave Rudolph; Michelle Brady; Gordon Chapin; Brenda LeBel; Spencer Kostus; Charles Keller; Sally Fisher; George Wingate; Donald Roy; Gene Brewer; and Howard Youngmeyer.
In 2011, more than 600 volunteers contributed over 23,000 hours of service to Lake County. Volunteers made contributions in areas that included adult literacy, teen court and various departments in County government, such as Community Services, Conservation & Compliance, Economic Development & Tourism and Employee Services.
