TAVARES — Lake County citizens and interested media representatives are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated and expanded Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares, on Friday, Aug. 18, at 8:30 a.m.
After the ceremony, guests can tour the renovated facility, which includes a new lobby, classrooms, kitchen and restrooms. The 5,500 square feet of renovated space also includes a new entrance feature and larger parking area.
The Agricultural Center houses the Lake County Extension Service, a partnership between the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences and the Board of County Commissioners. The trained professionals and volunteers of the extension service offer research-based education in agriculture, family and consumer sciences, and 4-H youth development.
