RELEASE DATE: March 16, 2012

BUSHNELL – The Lake County Extension Office, in partnership with the Sumter County Extension Office, is inviting citizens to attend sessions for Annie’s Project each Tuesday from April 3 through May 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sumter County Extension Office, located at 7620 State Road 471 in Bushnell.

Annie’s Project is a national program developed to empower women in agriculture to be better business owners and partners. It aims to help agricultural women gain the entrepreneurial skills needed to effectively execute their farm operation. The classes consist of lectures and discussions, as well as individual and small group activities. Participants will gain valuable knowledge about various topics including farm and family finances, farm and ranch financial analysis, crop and livestock marketing, computer programs designed for agricultural business management, interpersonal skills and business planning.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to register early, as registration is limited to 25 people. Registration is $60 and includes books, meals and materials. Full payment must accompany registration applications and be received or postmarked by March 26.
