TAVARES – The Lake County Extension is inviting residents to an educational program entitled “Lawn Care” on Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
The program will be presented by Charles Fedunak, Environmental Horticulturist with the University of Florida. Participants will be able to learn various tips and techniques to help care for the different types of grass found on lawns in Central Florida. The program will cover a variety of topics including: variety selection, fertilizing, watering and pest control utilizing the University of Florida’s “Best Management Practices.”
The fee for the class is $5 and pre-registration is required by Friday, April 13. To register, log on to www.lawncareprogram.eventbrite.com. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.
The Lake County Extension provides research-based information and educational programs cooperatively with the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and the University of Florida for all aspects of horticulture, agriculture, food safety, the home environment, financial management and 4-H youth programs.
