CLERMONT– The Stormwater Section of the Lake County Public Works Department, with the help of Cub Scout Troop 220 from Clermont, will install storm drain markers on Saturday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the Palisades subdivision, located in Clermont.
This activity fulfills a portion of the County’s public education requirement for the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Coordinated by Maryann Krisovitch, Lake County’s NPDES Education Outreach Coordinator, this activity aims to educate the public and raise awareness about storm water pollution. The areas targeted for storm drain marking have seen significant development and population growth in the past several years.
In addition, financial assistance is being provided by the Lake County Water Authority through the “Drop-by-Drop” mini-grant program, to help with the purchasing of supplies.
For additional information about the storm drain markers or the Lake County Stormwater Section, call the Lake County Public Works Department at 352-483-9080.
