TAVARES – The Lake County Board of County Commissioners recently passed a proclamation supporting the National Day of Prayer, which will be observed this year on Thursday, May 3.
Lake County’s observance of the National Day of Prayer will take place at noon, in front of the Historic Courthouse, located at 317 W. Main St. in Tavares. In addition, the first 200 people in attendance will receive a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich.
The National Day of Prayer is observed each year on the first Thursday in May, with this year being the 61st annual observance. The theme is “One Nation Under God.”
The observance of the National Day of Prayer is founded on the constitutional rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion and can be celebrated by all Americans.
