TAVARES – Lake County is currently exploring land options for the acquisition of property that could subsequently be used for future County projects.
Though discussions of acquiring land are in the preliminary stages, the County is interested in hearing from property owners whose land meets specific criteria. Property owners must contact the County no later than June 1 for their land to be considered.
The property must be uplands, must consist of 80-200 usable acres and it must be suitable for rezoning to PFD (Public Facilities). Additionally, there must be good legal access to the property and it cannot be divided by a bridge, highway or other structure.
Furthermore, other conditions include:
• The price must be negotiable
• Lake County pays no real estate commission
• Lake County pays no closing costs
• Any restrictions on the property and/or title must be disclosed
