TAVARES – Two teams from the Lake County Junior Cattlemen’s Association recently competed in the Team Marketing and Beef Quiz Bowl competitions at the Florida Cattlemen’s Association Annual Convention held in Marco Island. The Team Marketing group took home first place, and the Beef Quiz Bowl team placed fourth.
The Team Marketing squad, comprised of Karah Bradley (17), Clay Cravey (17) and Luke Raney (14), earned the right to represent the state of Florida at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association meeting in February 2013.
The Beef Quiz Bowl team included Emily Cravey (12), Jack Cravey (14), Miah Bradley (14) and Karah Bradley (17).
The Team Marketing competition is designed to encourage team participation while promoting the development of communication skills, marketing techniques and an understanding of cattle performance and pedigree data. The Beef Quiz Bowl aims to provide youth with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of cattle and Florida’s beef industry in a competitive setting.
