TAVARES — Lake County citizens are invited to sign up for the fall edition of the Lake County Citizens’ Academy.
The fall session of Citizens’ Academy is scheduled from Oct. 5 to Nov. 30 and is offered at no cost to residents. Classes are held each Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at various Lake County Government facilities. The classes provide citizens with information and materials explaining how the various departments within Lake County Government work to serve the community.
Citizens’ Academy allows citizens to learn and ask questions about aspects of government operations in an informal setting. Each week, a different branch of County Government is featured. A tentative schedule for the fall session is as follows:
Oct. 5 — Lake County Government Overview
Oct. 12 — Department of Public Safety
Oct. 19 — Internal offices of Lake County Government
Oct. 26 — Department of Environmental Services
Nov. 2 — Department of Public Works
Nov. 9 — Department of Growth Management
Nov. 16 — Department of Community Services
Nov. 30 — Department of Tourism and Business Relations
