Residents invited to tour the Pasture Reserve as restoration efforts begin to take shape

RELEASE DATE: August 10, 2012

GROVELAND – The Lake County Parks & Trails Division is inviting residents on a tour of the Pasture Reserve, located on Lake Erie Road (N 28° 28’43.80” W 81° 52’42.19”) in Groveland. The tour is set for Saturday, Aug. 18 from 8 to 10 a.m.

On this guided excursion, participants will get a first-hand look at Lake County’s efforts to restore the reserve’s native ecosystems. Tour-goers will also gain in-depth knowledge about the restoration process and its importance in maintaining the biodiversity of the County.

In addition, those who take part in the tour will have the opportunity to observe numerous birds and other wildlife.

The event is free, and would-be participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and hiking shoes. Reservations are encouraged, but not required.
