MOUNT DORA – Birding and wildflower enthusiasts, here is your chance to rub elbows with esteemed plant connoisseurs and expert birders as the historic Lakeside Inn, located at 100 N. Alexander St. in Mount Dora, will host an event entitled “Meet the Experts” on Friday, Sept. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. This event is one of many being held as part of the inaugural Wings and Wildflowers Festival, which is set for Sept. 28-30 with numerous events taking place throughout the County.
“Meet the Experts” will feature an array of revered birding and wildflower authors, speakers and specialists, who will share their expert knowledge and stories that recap many of their exciting adventures. Featured guests scheduled to be in attendance include James Currie, host of NBC Sports’ Birding Adventures, and keynote speaker for the Wings and Wildflowers Festival; Robyn Bailey of Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology; and Dr. Walter Kingsley Taylor, author of “The Field Guide to Florida Wildflowers” and “Wildflowers in Their Natural Communities.”
This event is free and refreshments will be available for attendees to enjoy. The Wings and Wildflowers Festival is Lake County’s inaugural birding and wildflower celebration. This weekend-long festival is filled with over 100 scheduled events and activities.
