LEESBURG – The Lake County Solid Waste Division, in conjunction with the Leesburg Police Department, will hold a Prescription Drugs Take-Back event on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot at the former Sims Furniture Galleries, located at 1715 Citrus Blvd. in Leesburg.
At this event, residents will be able to safely and easily dispose of unwanted prescription medications. This controlled disposal process helps prevent improper use by others and ensures that all collected items are discarded in an environmentally sensitive manner.

Items such as lawn and gardening chemicals, photo and swimming pool materials, paint and related products, cleaning solutions, motor oil and used gas, batteries, fluorescent lamps, light bulbs and small propane tanks will all be accepted for disposal.
Materials such as infectious waste, solvents, chemical laboratory waste and radioactive waste are not permitted.
