CLERMONT — Lake County Commissioner Sean Parks, District 2, and Lake County School Board Member Tod Howard, District 3, are looking to start a new tradition in South Lake County that includes a monthly meeting with constituents.
On the first Thursday of every month, the two elected officials are planning to host a “Coffee & Conversations” meeting with constituents at different restaurants each month in South Lake County. Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 1, Commissioner Parks and School Board Member Howard will meet at 9 a.m. at the Chick-fil-A, located at 2585 E. State Road 50, Clermont.
“Getting feedback from, and talking with Lake County residents is one of the most important parts of my job,” said Commissioner Parks. “The Coffee & Conversations meetings are an opportunity to be accessible to residents in a casual setting in order to address issues facing our community.”
With no set agenda or scheduled appointments, the monthly meetings are intended to be informal.
“We’re hoping this type of setting will be useful to the community because it gives residents the freedom to determine the course of conversation,” said School Board Member Howard. “Many people are more comfortable meeting one-on-one, as well.”
