TAVARES — Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 14, the final portion of the construction of the roundabout at the intersection of W. Main Street and Sinclair Avenue in downtown Tavares will begin.
The work will require partial road closure of Sinclair Avenue, from W. Main Street to W. Maud Street (the entry to the Parking Garage). The construction will also close off westbound traffic at the intersection for those traveling along Main Street.
The roundabout construction is entering its second phase, with initial construction beginning back in August 2012. The new roundabout, part of a downtown revitalization initiative, will help alleviate congestion at the intersection, enabling a smoother flow of traffic once completed.
Construction is expected to be complete by mid-December. During the construction period, residents and visitors are urged to use extreme caution when driving or walking in the vicinity of the construction work.
