ASTATULA — Lake County recently expanded its fire service levels in the Town of Astatula with the opening of fire station 77 at its new location, 13431 Ohio St. in Astatula.
Formerly located at 25025 Kirkwood Ave., the previous Astatula fire facility operated as the main fleet maintenance operation for all fire equipment, with a certified firefighter able to respond to fire-related calls Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
With the County recently consolidating its fleet operations for fire with its fleet maintenance facility in Groveland, the new fire station will now house firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) on the premises as a fully-staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week station.
“Even though we’ve had a presence for some time in Astatula, we’re excited to be able to offer an increased level of service in the area,” said John Jolliff, Director/Fire Chief for the Lake County Public Safety Department.
