TAVARES — The Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Calendars for 2013 will be available starting Wednesday, Dec. 5. The calendar features the top 14 photos selected through the 2013 Adopt-a-Lake photo contest. The top-scoring photograph of Lake Dora submitted by William Burkle is featured on the calendar’s front cover.
Over 150 photos of Lake County water bodies were entered in the 2013 Adopt-a-Lake photo contest. A committee narrowed the photos down to 26 semi-finalists. These semi-finalist’s photos were then voted on by the public on the Adopt-a-Lake webpage. More than 1,500 votes were submitted to select the top 14 photographs that are featured in the 2013 calendar. The runner-up photos are included in a special section in the back of the calendar. The second place photo of Lake Eustis by Jamie Asmus is featured on the calendar’s back cover.
