CLERMONT — The 2nd Annual WinterFair at the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail, 11490 Monte Vista Road in Clermont, is being held on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Activities at the event include live entertainment, craft vendors and exhibitors, a variety of food, kayaking, hay rides, children’s activities and more. Ranger Rick will also be making an appearance for some treasure hunting on the Geocaching Trail for kids.
“It’s a perfect time to take a break from the mad rush of the holidays and come out to the country to enjoy an old-time celebration of the season,” said Cathy Brown with the Florida Scrub-Jay Consortium. “There will be lots of food, outdoor fun and live music all day and night.”
As the sun sets, the lakeside stage will be lit for an evening concert performance featuring Frank Thomas, the award-winning balladeer/songwriter, along with Cathy DeWitt and Dale Crider. A campfire will also be going for marshmallow roasting and sing-alongs.
Daytime activity tickets are $5, and children under age 5 are free. Evening concert seats are $10 in advance, which includes daytime activities. Evening tickets are $15 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail, on the web at www.scrubjaytrail.org or by phone at 352-429-5566. All event proceeds will benefit the building of the Florida Scrub-Jay Treatment Center for Injured Birds and Wildlife.
