TAVARES — The Lake County Extension is inviting residents to an upcoming three-part educational series entitled, “Women & Money.” The series will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 29, Feb. 5 and Feb. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
Women & Money will be presented by Julie England, an extension agent with UF/IFAS Lake County Extension. The educational program will help women learn how to manage their money and their future. Topics include: money basics, protecting assets, investing basics, estate planning and understanding your money personality.
“Women have unique financial circumstances,” said England. “They typically earn less on average than men, and may have employment gaps due to family care giving - all of which can affect current earnings as well as future retirement benefits.”
Participants should plan to attend all three sessions. The cost of the class is $15, and includes materials and a light meal each week. Registration is required by Sunday, Jan. 27, and can be done online at http://womenmoneywinter2013.eventbrite.com or by calling 352-343-4101 extension 2719.
